TikTok overtook Facebook and its other apps to become the most downloaded social media app in the world. A global survey of downloads in 2020 shows the Chinese short video app on top for the first time since the study started in 2018. Telegram also ranked high amid privacy concerns surrounding WhatsApp. TikTok is banned in India since last year.
