WhatsApp Banned 20 Lakh Indian Accounts in December '21: Compliance Report

WhatsApp banned 20,79,000 lakh Indian accounts, while 528 grievance reports were received, in December 2021, according to its monthly compliance report. Previously, the Meta-owned platform stated that over 95% of bans are due to the unauthorised use of automated or bulk, spam messaging.

WhatsApp identifies Indian accounts using +91 in the beginning of phone numbers.
